Call for Artists-with the people will run September 2024 through May 2025.

Visual Arts Students will create artwork to exhibit in the community.

Art supplies to support creative thinking will be given out free.

Each cfa participant will turn in their artwork by the deadlines provided for the Call For Artists exhibit.

Students will receive a free HWH tee shirt & an art kit for registering for the CFA event.

Art Kits + tees will be handed out at events or available for pick up at various locations around Charleston. We can also mail to you!

John’s Island Library is a participating artwork drop off location. More locations will be listed as deadline nears.

CURRENT PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS

Subject: Repetition / pattern

Create a piece of art that repeats the same image multiple times or different versions of the same image.

Repetition can be used to emphasize meaning or show change.

Draw the same subject matter two or more times on the same canvas, create a pattern, tell a story, use visual language and symbols to explain an idea.

Think about using symmetry and/or a simple color scheme.
